India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.

First off, I have to pull out my 'I'm married to an Indian woman and have been to India like 7 times card' and lay it out there. Lets see.... *looking through wallet*....there it is, right behind my Hair Club for Men discount club card. We stopped in here on our way across country, and we were very, very pleased with the food. I pretty much use Chicken Tikka masala as my benchmark for Indian food, and theirs was excellent. My wife got dal and it was tasty. They even had good wine. Staff was friendly and attentive. Only downside? As others have said, this place is tiny. If you go on a weekend night, expect a wait. If you're riding your Harley to Sturgis (just up the road), and get a hankering for some sag paneer, this is your place!

Tried Friday night. Was so good that we went back the next morning for the buffet. Quality of food and service was excellent. Don't forget the milk tea.
(5)Jessica T.
DELICIOUS. We ate here on the way back from seeing the sights. One of our party wimped out at the thought of Indian Food, but it was delicious. We were one of the only non-Indian people in the place, so I knew it would be good. I, as usual, ate off the vegetarian portion of the menu. Huge portion. One of our party ate off the lunch buffet and he had no complaints either. If I'm ever in the area again - I'll definitely return.
(5)J R.
Delicious, filling, authentic food, excellent service. The lamb korma is very nice. I would certainly return.

We brought a group of 30 people for dinner (20 high school youth and 10 older adults) and the food was amazing! We had pre-ordered meals for each table, and the food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. Many of our youth had not had Indian/Nepalese food before and they enjoyed the variety of meals. The owners and wait staff were extremely attentive. Drinks were refilled quickly. The owner even surprised us with giving everyone free desserts! We would HIGHLY recommend you try this great restaurant.
(5)Kuldeep G.
Taste of food was very good but service was pathetic. No doubt whatever we ordered was tasty. But we had to wait for a long time for everything..two persons are not able to handle the guests in proper manner. Samosa is the best I ever had in US.
(4)Jerry M.
Excellent Indian food in Rapid City, you'd have thunk it. Place was busy on a Sunday night, with service a little slower than optimal, but owner was very attentive. Goat cheese naan was delicious. Lamb with cashew nutmeg curry excellent, as was vegetarian tofu dish. Certainly a pleasant surprise.
(5)Suzie M.
Fabulous Indian food. Super fresh and the portions were more than generous. Wait staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They were very busy when we got there and the waiter was more than apologetic. I had the Chicken Birani and my husband had the Tandoori combo. Both were delicious. The veggie samosas weren't greasy and the Keer for dessert was yummy. We're from NJ and this Indian food was much better than what I've sampled at home. Definitely worth the trip!
(5)Darcy B.
Food was absolutely delicious and they were more than willing (and able) to accommodate our very large group. In truth, I wasn't expecting much from an Indian restaurant all the way out in South Dakota, but Everest's food blew past my expectations and set a very high bar for the rest of the restaurants we would be visiting during our time here!
(5)Tina A.
WOW, thanks YELPers for leading me here, what great food! And yes, the chicken tikka marsala is delicious. Restaurant is small but well laid out and exceptionally clean. I love this place!
(5)Lyndsay V.
Amazing service. We arrived 10 minutes before the lunch buffet ended and they were out of tandoori chicken, but our server ordered up a fresh batch from the kitchen (without us asking) which was done when we finished eating 13 minutes later. He boxed it up with some rice for us to take to go along with the mango lassi (very fresh) that I ordered to go the minute I stepped in the door. We really appreciated the way we were truly treated as special guests. The food was very good and still fresh, even though it was time to tear down the buffet. I was happily surprised. All the food was prepared mild to medium on the buffet. The dal was delicious, good amount of well prepared veggies offered too. Chicken tikka was sweet and mild with a ton of chicken. Maps of Nepal grace the tables, which I enjoyed for the short time we were there. Clean and clearly showed pride of ownership. Thank you Everest Cuisine!
(5)Kherdine K.
This is hands down my favorite place to 'throw down' in Rapid City. Probably the best customer service in town. I grew up eating Indian food, so it's nice to have somewhere nearby to satisfy my occasional hankering. The naan is usually soft and delicious, and their saag paneer is crave-worthy. Be sure to get there fairly early during lunch buffet hours, or you might be scraping the bottom of the dish. This has happened a few times, and as soon as I asked, the staff brought out fresh food. The recent addition of free chai tea is an ideal way to close off a fabulous meal. I'll continue to be a regular as long as I live in this area.
(5)Dave E.
Great Food. Brings back memories of the Tibet/Nepal restaurant that Trudy and I frequented when we lived in Germany. The rice was perfect. The Chicken Tikka Masala was superb with moist tasty chicken in a fantastic creamy sauce. The Tandoori Chicken Tikka was cooked perfectly, came out on a sizzling hot plate. The Chicken Korma with cashew nuts, herbs & spices an a cream & butter sauce was also a winner. An order of wheat naan & homemade goat cheese naan completed our meal. I wanted to try the Gulab Jamun for dessert but did not have room. We will be definitely be back.
(5)Amela K.
My favorite place in Rapid. You must try the buffet! My favorite menu item is the lamb saag.
(5)Geoffrey D.
Possibly the best restaurant in Rapid City. A great place to venture away from your average cuisine and have a fun meal! Food is outstanding and the staff is the friendliest I have found at any local eatery. Make sure and ask for your waiters recommendations and don't be afraid to ask for spicy!
(5)Hungry L.
Hands down this place deserve 5/5 stars. The chicken tikka masala was very tasty. Medium heat means hot so order mild if you want to be safe. The staff was extremely accommodating and pleasant. AC was a little high and we asked them reduce it. No problem. Awesome service!
(5)Cristina G.
I really enjoyed this restaurant. While the outside looks a little questionable don't let that deter you because the food was very good. We had the Lamb VIndaloo and Chicken Tikka Masala at medium heat and all was very flavorful and aromatic. We probably could have gone with the spicy version but we played it safe since each restaurant varies their heat index. The wine prices are very good....$15 for a bottle of wine? Cant beat it.

I've been to half of the America using yelp, yet this is my first review. Nice food, Indian/Malaysian style, it's just that before we travel to Mount Mashmore we want to have a good and full lunch, then we find here on yelp, and It Feels Great, the buffet, the simple feeling, and only fking 10 dollars! I might never gonna be to Rapid city again but I want to recommend this for everyone traveling here.
(5)Eddy H.
Stopped in after a long day driving around and visiting Badlands and Mount Rushmore. Seems like family run, so a bit more personable then the corner Chili's. the most important thing was, of course, the food. Tasty and great flavor. My eldest daughter, who was not a fan of Indian cuisine, will now constantly ask if we can get Indian because of her experience at Everest Cuisine. If you're from out of town like us and craving something other than burgers, you won't be disappointed.
(4)Teresa N.
Wow! This restaurant was quite the find! The Napalese buffet hit all of our taste buds. The employees were friendly and welcoming. We also enjoyed visiting with some of the locals that frequent this place. Lastly, the tea was delicious. We may have to return before the week is up.
(5)Sarah A.
Very, very good. A ton of vegan options and was absolutely delicious. The selections had deep flavor unlike another similar restaurant we have in town. The building is quaint and cozy. We had the buffet today, but I'm looking forward to trying something off the menu. Will definitely be back!
(4)Maus M.
Excellent Indian / Nepalese food, generous portions, flakey & light garlic naan and a very helpful host. Being from WAY out of town it's always great to be able to find a bit of home style food. We had our pick of places to sit in a very small, but well decorated place. The outside is deceiving and you'll drive right past it if you are not looking. Another great plus is the location, not being right in the middle of downtown, means ample parking in front, side & back. Our host was immediately with us and made us feel at home. We ordered lamb samosa, Chicken Tikka Masala spicy & Chicken Korma mild & an order of garlic naan & mango lassi to drink. Everything was good and came out quickly which was appreciated since I was starving. My only complaint was the minced lamb in the samosa was gritty and fatty. There was also a lot of fat in the chicken pieces in the Korma. My husband liked the Chicken Tikka Masala and did say it was VERY spicy. A true Indian dish, and not Americanized. He needed another mango lassi to help with the spice. A great place and very good food. Didn't expect to find something like this in South Dakota, and very glad we did.
(4)Nate W.
I finally went back again twice, at night, for their expanded menu. 1. HUGE menu. I was amazed. I had a shrimp dish and it was amazing. 2. They have wine, yay, but it's not a good list. Think Christian Brothers. Still, who cares? Great menu with lots to choose from. Downside? I went another time at six p.m. on a Friday, the the tiny foyer was packed. The line went out the door, even though it was -15. People waited in their cars, too. I suspected it was a two hour wait. So what's that tell you? You decide.
(5)Karen P.
I've eaten a lot of Indian food, and this is the best I've ever had. Everything (paneer, vegetarian thali, korma, eggplant specialty, mango lassi) was so flavorful and perfect in every way! The owners are wonderful-- professional and friendly. If I lived in the area, I would be at this place every week.
(5)Michelle C.
Food was good, not great, but good. Service was a bit slow, but the manager/owner was very friendly and training a new waiter. I had the Mushroom Mutter and it was not a wow dish, but as I said, it was good. This is a low key restaurant with good food at reasonable prices.
(4)Rusty M.
Don't let the building fool you! This is Rapid City's hidden jewel! I've are to many Indian restaurants across the US and was weary SD had one, what a pleasant surpriseI. Authentic food with Indian cooks, I highly recommend this place! Great food! Recommend their curry, masala, saag, and garlic naan bread!!!
(5)David B.
Having moved to Rapid City from Chicago, it was great to find such a tasty and very authentic Nepalese diner! The food was delicious, and my taste buds were overjoyed with the mango lassi! I highly recommend the lunch buffet, a great variety for a great price. Apparently it can be quite busy at lunch time, but we were quite lucky the day we went.
(5)John B.
Ate lunch here after a long, snowy drive from Colorado Springs for Thanksgiving. They're located right in the heart of the Rapid City business district, so they have lots of competition for diners...yet the place was jam-packed full of customers when we walked inside. That was almost all we needed to know about them...whatever they're doing, they're doing it well enough to be wall-to-wall humanity in the middle of a snowstorm! Once we were seated, service was friendly and fast without feeling rushed. Man, I sure loved that first Taj Mahal beer! Good stuff after a roadtrip. Everything we ordered was delivered hot straight from the stove, and every bite was delicious. My wife did their buffet while I stuck with their lamb chops and three different types of naan. It was all excellent...lamb chops were medium, just like I ordered them, sauce was flawless, and all the naan was obviously made in-house and freshly baked. Best Indian food we've had in a very long time. Not quite enough to make us move to Rapid City, but...almost!!! :-)
(5)Mandi H.
This was an absolutely fabulous meal. We've been driving cross country and needed a non diner, non American restaurant. Eat here! The paneer tikka masala and masala tea are the best. I hope this place gets your business because the staff was also very kind
(5)Ashwin P.
Tasty Nepalese place in Rapid City! We stopped on a road trip across the country and were quite happy with our meal. We shared a lamb dish and a vegetable dish. Everything was tasty: the lamb was tender and well spiced and the vegetable dish was creamy and spicy. We ordered basil garlic naan on the side, which was quite unique compared to other south Asian restaurants I'd been to. We also had mango lassis that were delicious! The one downside was that the rice tasted reheated. But other than that, great place!
(4)Joan S.
Any new restaurant in this area that becomes as popular as Everest has will experience growing pains. They're learning while making some quality food, as authentic Indian/Nepalese food as you will find in this area. Their naan is top notch (and not a flour tortilla pulled out of a package like some local Indian joints that shall not be named). The buffet combines consistency with variety, which is tremendous. When ordering off the menu, ask for a recommendation and you'll get something good. The service is where you can see they're definitely family-run. No career-waitrons here. If you don't like that style, then get your food to go. Otherwise, stay and hang out.
(4)Chad H.
This was a buffet style food, you could try many different things and all of them were very good. Service was very good even thought it was kind of busy. I would for sure recommend this restaurant any day and I wish I lived here so I could eat this on a regular basis. 5 stars
(5)Dean D.
Nice buffet for lunch, a little pricey but worth the change of pace. Buffet fair seems to be prepared as on the menu for other meals. Small dining area so arrive early or late for lunch. Staff very attentive and polite.
(4)Russ S.
This restaurant is a real gem! I spent three days in Rapid City and had dinner at Everest Cuisine two times. The place itself is not that fancy (especially from the outside), but the food they cook and serve here is perhaps one of the best I've ever tried in my life! Lamb masala and vegetable samosas were freshly cooked and tasted superb! If you want to experience authentic Indian/Nepalese cuisine, this is definitely the place to go! The first time we came here, it was packed with people and there was a huge crowd of people outside of the restaurant waiting to be seated. The wait, however, was well worth it. The owner was very apologetic, and overall seemed to be a very nice guy, indeed. I hope this place will flourish, especially if the owner and the chef(s) will maintain the same high standards with their food!
(5)Christopher I.
Delicious. Cozy. Family-owned. They give you free naan with lunch and have a large variety of buffet options. It's owned and operated by a family and they are very friendly and attentive. Definitely stop by this place for some delicious indian and nepalese cuisine.
(5)Bart D.
Unassuming Indian Restaurant we stopped at in Rapid City during our voyage down I-90. Wait staff was very friendly and low key. Perfect after a long day on the road. Oh, and the food was excellent too. Chana Masala was perfectly spiced. Naan was soft and crispy at the same time.
(5)Kristin H.
Let me just say, this is the BEST Indian food I have EVER had. Who would have thought it would be in good ol' Rapid City, SD! I got the chicken makhani and it was AMAZZZZZING.
(5)Fran S.
Excellent restaurant and extra great service. Travel to San Francisco and see if you can find this quality. Best ever.
(5)James H.
Not bad food, not great either. Very cramped inside.
(3)Prashant P.
Was little hesitant from outside appearance but had a pretty good time. All the other reviews were pretty accurate and we are glad that we selected this place for the dinner. Had masala tea which was pretty good. Tried Veg. Thali and Non Veg. Thali which were awesome.
(5)Sarah S.
Great little gem with terrific food, outstanding service and a charming atmosphere. I will definitely be going back the next time I find myself traveling through Rapid City.
(5)Audra K.
Don't let the outside appearance deter you- very good food, reasonable prices and extremely friendly waiters. Definitely worth it
(4)Ron S.
Food is fresh, perfectly prepared, and wonderfully authentic! The Naan is great, fresh iced tea, exceptional service,,,, priced competitively. My husband had goat and really enjoyed it!
(5)Murray L.
Had a terrible experience today at lunch. Not sure why they got these 2 good reviews...my wife and I went there for lunch today and ordered the buffett. There were lots of flies buzzing around, which was acceptable as they have a single door entrance. Went and most of the food was gone from the warmers on the buffett. VERY limited amount of food in the waremrs that had food in them. :( Waited and waited and waited and then finally had to leave to not be late returning from my lunch hour...went to pay and ask if I could get some $$ taken off the bill since my wife and I each had a small sparse plate and then waited for the buffett to be restocked with food...and then mostly just rice....hostess blathered something about we try, we try...making to restock now....what??? She charged us $21.95 for rice and sprite...oh and 3 pieces of naan bread. So, this gives me the impression that this place is ill-suited to run a competent buffett...4 other tables complained about the empty buffett warmers where there should have been food!! AND, could not believe the hostess---this place is just about putting out inexpensive food (when they stock the buffett) and getting all the dollars it can at the cost of the customer...I don't expect this place to remain this way for long. VERY UPSET and a TERRIBLE experience at Everest Cuisine!! :(
(1)Liz B.
Best indian food in town. Small place used to be Hanas but worth the trip. Had the lunch buffet, plenty of choices great price! The tandoori chicken was great, not dried out. Dinner is even better the lamb is very tender and you can order plates spicy. The waiters are very quick and attentive. You get free Naan with your meal at lunch excellent for dipping up the rest of your curry! About time Rapid does decent indian food. The owners are very sweet and sincere. Great place anyone who doesn't like indian food should try the lunch buffet.
(4)Jenn R.
Used Yelp to find veg-friendly places on a west vacation, and this place really fit the bill. It has a menu for meat eaters & not, and the food is well prepared and seasoned perfectly. A real gem in Rapid City.
(4)Mitch S.
This place is amazing. I'm a Rapid City local and this place has only been open for a month or two. It's the real deal. We had the chicken tikka masala and the chicken korma, both extremely tasty! Each order came with naan and we had plain along with garlic basil, incredibly yummy. It is a small restaurant, quiet with wonderful staff.
(5)Tiffany J.
Yum! Authentic Indian food. Great service. Never disappointed. Well done.
(4)M G.
Delicious food, great prices, and friendly staff! The food is so good that it is always popular and crowded so I recommend going as early as possible to avoid the crowd. It's that good!
(5)Conor M.
Ate there for dinner. The food was amazing. Fresh, well seasoned, and authentic. I've eaten Indian food all over the country and this was as good as anyplace I've ever been. Prices were reasonable, service was prompt and excellent. Ambiance was nice but still casual. I will definitely go back.
(5)Scooter N.
A welcome addition to RC. Everest blows away the competion. I tried the lunch buffet ($9.62) and it was very good. The place is small and busy, so get there early. In a larger city, I'd give it 4 stars. In RC, it's a 5 star.
(5)Sparkle H.
The food was very good. The thing that I liked is it was authentic! The people were very friendly. I highly recommend if you want some good Indian food.
(4)Richard O.
Wife, Mother-in-Law, & I dined last night at Everest Cuisine. ALL of us are noobies when it comes to Indian food. We let our waiter (might have been the owner) order for us. He asked a few questions, & I let the ladies do the talking. For $92 which includes a $15 tip (no booze ordered) we enjoyed a delicious meal with enough leftovers for another meal each! Phenomenal value says I. Restaurant is small and unpretentious. The parking lot is also small (can smell good food yummy small from outside); but at 5:30PM the lot already had several cars in it which I took to mean that earlier Yelp reviews were correct: a great Indian place in South Dakota which I thought incongruous. By the time we left, the restaurant was full with nice folks, GREAT smells, and happy times. Eat here. Enjoy dining simply and sumptuoutsly. Enjoy leftovers. Save the overpriced joints for the next day.
(5)Terri L.
Best Indian Food I have ever had, beats the heck out of what you can get in bigger cities in the mid-west. Chicken Curry, extra hot with Garlic Naan. My favorite meal!!!! Mild Chicken Saag with Roti is my husband's favorite choice. My daughter loves their Chicken Mak-Hani. I could eat here every day of the week!!!!
(5)Fdoamerica G.
Disclosure: I have traveled multiple times to India (love the food) and I live in ATL along with more than 200,000 Indian American (legal citizens) many whom are owners of very good Indian restaurants. I know good Indian food. That said, I also realize I am in South Dakota. For you that live here it is a blessing just to have an Indian/Nepalese cuisine as good as this one. So here is my take: My meal was Good - Fair (not great). I had Tandoori chicken that had too many little pieces of chicken that by the time I got the meat off I ended up with 80% bones and 20% meat. NOT Good. The tandoori flavor was just, OK. The rice plate that came with it was very good. The mango chicken plate was a much better choice. Finally, I ordered 'Palak Paneer' (a dish prepared with spinach and Indian cheese) this also was OK/Good but I have had much better. So what to do? Well, if you are living here in Sioux Falls then your choices are limited and you are thankful that you have one Good Indian/Nepalese food restaurant. I will come back my next time passing through...
(3)Cause C.
While staying in Spearfish we drove to Rapid and back just for dinner at Everest Cuisine. Awesome as usual fresh and so delicious. If you are in the Black Hills area Everest Cuisine has a wonderful fair for your culinary delight.
(5)Nick I.
We were on our way back from Montana and spent a night in Rapid City and found this place for dinner. This is a hidden gem for sure. We were seated right away and the staff was very nice and the service was wonderful. We ordered a couple of entrees and some garlic naan. I kept it simple with the lamb curry as i had a craving for curry and the GF had the Chana Masala. They asked us what spicy level and being we both love spicy food weren't let down. They brought the heat unlike many places. Everything was cooked and prepared perfect. The naan was delicious, so don't forget to order some. If you are traveling through, skip every chain you see on the way and enjoy some great local Indian food.
(4)Carl C.
Excellent! It had been too long since my last rogan josh, and I never would have expected South Dakota to be where I'd find it prepared so well. It took a little longer than most restaurants for the meal to arrive. My wife and I knew this meant they were actually preparing our meal and not microwaving some day old sauce. When the meal arrived the fresh spices were like a romantic perfume. More than worth the wait. I don't know when I'll next be in Rapid City but Everest will be on my must visit list.
(5)Avinash K.
We had stopped by here for lunch, instead of the lunch buffet we ordered our food. We got the appetizer plate, most of the items there were good. We ordered malai kofta and the chicken curry both were really good. The chicken curry was made spicy which was actually hit the authentic level of indian spicy which was good for a change. We also got a couple of naans, which was correct for the four of us. It's a good place at a reasonable price.
(4)Gail J.
Bhaingan Bharta was delicious! Paneer tikka masala was amazing! What a gem in South Dakota!
(5)Ted W.
I come to Rapid about once a year on average to visit family and every time we go to Everest. The lunch buffet is an outstanding value, but be wary of overstuffing yourself on the unlimited Chicken Tikka Masala. I will usually order from the menu, since I like my food spicy. Again, be wary, because when they say "Mild, Medium or Hot?" the "Hot" is HOT. You can't go wrong with anything on this menu. FIVE STARS.
(5)Kevin B.
Outstanding food. The curry is excellent and the Naan and rice are perfect. The daal is really good as well. Will be back.
(5)Jamie S.
Best Indian food I have ever had! Flew in for work and ended up coming back for seconds! The flavor and the food was tasted better every bite! We ordered the samosas for appetizer and paneer masala and lamb saag for dinner. We came back two days later for lunch before flying out and had the buffet. The service was quick and friendly. It was so great! Can't wait to come again!
(5)Ash R.
This was, by far, the best meal I've eaten since moving to North Dakota from Los Angeles in 2012 and would quite possibly beat any of the similar meals I had ever eaten before moving. Fresh and hot and perfectly flavored, excellent service, and totally reasonable prices. We had the Chef's special appetizer and every single bite was amazingly good and the sauces were excellent. We had the garlic naan which was bubbly and crisp and perfect. Ordered the chicken korma which is always one of our favorites and this was really the best of the best, the lamb curry which was so tender it was unbelievable, and the mushroom mutter which neither of us had ever had before and LOVED. I don't like to repeat restaurants when we travel, so that we're always trying new things, but when we hit Rapid City again, I'll have to break that rule for Everest. I am so jealous of the locals. Awesome, awesome place.
(5)Cody A.
Awesome restaurant! Very vegan-friendly and so so so delicious! If you like Nepalese/ethnic food, this place cannot be missed!
(5)Richard B.
Delicious diner. In particular I would recommend the samosas and the ice tea. They have a very unique flavor here and are really exceptional. Not as good as the food in Mumbai but really excellent for the Midwest. Service is very good and the decor is nice as well.
(4)Gary H.
We visited this while passing through town. Many of us had the lunch buffet, which was reasonably priced. The food was tasty - good for a buffet. The service was friendly, although a bit slow. The ambiance is simple but honest. I'd return if I'm ever passing through again.
(4)Katy H.
This place was so crowded we decided to take a seat outside (which wasn't great) and waited a bit for our food (and our waiter who was busy with the register too). It was worth it. Absolutely delicious saag paneer and I would go back anytime.
(4)Yoda B.
This place was absolutely incredible, and just as tasty as Nepalese food in any major city. Very relieved to have found it in rapid City- we need more authentic locally owned dining places like this! The flavors were so dynamic and the atmosphere feels electric in here- everyone around you is also having a joyous experience with their meal and the staff is friendly but doesn't harass you. I can't wait to come back again!
(5)Jeffrey A.
This place was a gem! My wife and I often travel to eat incredibile food. We journeyed from Rushmore to Custer State Park, looking for something to eat on our way to The Badlands. I am extremely happy my wife selected Everest. While somewhat skeptical at first, our waiter was phenomenal. He offered ideas on what to eat. The samosas = excellent! I had the lamb curry = excellent! She had the Chicken something masala = excellent! The garlic Naan = excellent! Finished the meal off with some delish rice pudding = excellent! I would stop again, which is saying a lot because when we travel we like to try out new spots. **Do agree with others...medium is HOT! So stick to mild or medium. Loved it!!!!!!
(5)Dina V.
We loved this little place, even though two of us are "on the fence" about Indian food! The waitstaff was lovely- brought extra rice, and when we asked about a tshirt for our son, they gave a free tshirt to our daughter. And the food- amazing flavors! We ordered vegetable curry, tikka masala chicken, and lamb over rice. All delicious. The medium spice level was still too spicy for our "on the fence" eaters- but my son and I loved it! The mild spice level was fine for all. It was such a treat to find good international food in a place where there are cheesy tourist options at every turn. An authentic Himalayan meal was a surprise and delight as we traveled through South Dakota!
(5)Douglas H.
My only complaint is that "medium" was my equivalent of pretty frickin' spicy... but worth the burning for how good it was--just as good as anything I've had back home in the SF/Bay Area.

A wonderful place to fill ones belly after a long drive from Colorado! The medium was HOT! Make sure to ask for extra water. Incredible flavors, great service and delightful decor. A great spot for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.

I was visiting from CA so I didn't expect much, but this place was fantastic! Great curries and naan.

Great food and excellent service. Very hospitable. We got a table and hot food even though we walked in 20 minutes before close. 100% recommended.

Excellent buffet! The chicken tandoori and the chicken curry masala were awesome! Naan could have been a little better. Kheer (rice pudding) was really delicious. This place definitely gives you a feeling of one of those dhabas (roadside restaurants in India) if you've been to India.

In my quest to try just about every variety of food that one could find I always love it when I can stumble upon a buffet to get a sampling of foods never tried before. This place did not disappoint. Not having a frame of reference for indian/napal food Ill say that the food was delicious and seemed fresh and well prepared. Got there right at 11am and it was quiet however its worth mentioning seating is rather limited. Should I give it 5 stars? I don't know, I don't have a frame of reference for this type of food.. it's based on how fresh it 'seemed' to be. I'll give it 4 stars because I can see the seating becoming an issue if it gets busy.

Magical. If I had to describe this gem in one word, that is the word I would use. Not only are they pleasant, they go above and beyond. It is the kind of place where you almost feel embarrassed by how well they are treating you. The best part? It is hidden in a hole in the wall, strip mall kind of building that looks like it houses liquor and cigs, not Indian delicacies. I came in for a take out order and they offered me hot chai (yum) while I waited. They checked on me to make sure I was comfortable. They thanked me for my business. And all of this before I had even tried the food. THE FOOD. Heavenly. Vegetable Biryani medium spicy, vegetable samosa and garlic basil naan. Holy hot dogs! The portions are gigantic and they are generous with the condiments. I had plenty of raita and chutney to spare. This place is divine. I know I sound like I am gushing, but I came for Mt Rushmore, and found Everest Cuisine. My only regret is that I won't be in town to eat here tomorrow. If you live in Rapid City, you are one lucky duck.

During a visit to Rapid City with another family we were trying to not repeat our culinary experience during the trip. So tonight we pushed the kids (and some of the adults) outside their comfort zone. I reassured our group of four adults and 4 kids that the food would be good. I was wrong - the food was great, just as the service. I called to make a reservation for our party of 8. We arrived right on time and our table was set and ready. We were treated like special guests in their home. We ordered a variety of items to try and share. We should have shown a little self control as servings are healthy and many can easily be shared. We had a great evening trying Nepalese cuisine. Hope to be back on my next visit to Rapid City.

I rarely write reviews but this place s so good I had to. By far the best food in Rapid City and the region. I live in Los Angeles and have spent time in India and Nepal - so I know what high quality Indian food should taste like and this is up there with some of the best I have had. I have been traveling to Rapid City for over 20 years and having a restaurant like this is a real Godsend! The food is fresh and delicious, and it is a haven for vegetarians. The staff is friendly, very efficient, and they are aware of concerns and dietary needs of their customers. I can not recommend this place highly enough.

I had the everest sampler, medium, and it was amazing! Especially the tandoori chicken! Not all the wait staff are English speakers, but they do a great job! Try the Taj beer, it's amazing. Also, the other reviews here should help you navigate the menu.

Always outstanding food. I have been here 10 or more times for lunch, food is consistently excellent, mango lassi is the best, service is excellent. I would recommend this authentic food to anybody.

Best Saag I've ever had. Korma was also amazing! Great service and would definitely go back...again and again. If only, we lived here!

3.5 stars for food -- Very good food (tandoori chicken & chicken tikka masala were great) and the service was excellent! 4 stars for service. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Indian food (I am a bit of a food snob, as NYC has such great food. Was pleasantly surprised to find such a good Nepalese/ Indian restaurant in a small town in SD! )

Excellent Indian cuisine. Don't let the exterior of this small restaurant fool you. Inside it is well appointed and comfortable. The food is excellent. One caveat: even the mild curry is spicy.

Possibly the best Indian/Nepalese food I have had in my life. You would never know it by its appearance or location, but Everest is serving up authentic cuisine that is clearly made with local knowledge. I had he Goat curry, and it was extremely flavorful and rich. The Naan is fantastic. When you ask for it Spicy, be ready for some heat! Definitely go here if you are in Rapid City.

Started with the Somasa chat, which was flavor-rich. We followed it with mango chicken and vegetable curry. Delish. Next time we will try garlic naan.

We stopped in here on our way back from badlands, and we were all in love with the food here. I like Chicken Tikka masala so much here and theirs was excellent. I think they got deal and it was tasty.

I love this place. I've always received excellent service here, and the food is unlike anything else you can get in Rapid City. I recommend the Saag Paneer and the Kadai Chicken - but make sure you order the Naan - any kind is good. The lunch buffet is usually very good, but keep in mind that you can order from the menu too.

I'm a bit of a big city snob (about 70% as city snobby as the average person from NYC), so I wasn't expecting much from Everest. That said, this was the best Indian food I've ever had. PROS: --Generous portion sizes --Lamb biryani had a tons of lamb. The lamb was very tender and flavorful. --Naan was light, fluffy, and flaky --Fast, friendly, and unobtrusive service CONS: --In South Dakota, which means I'd have to travel pretty far to get some more TIPS: --The moderate spicy has some heat (delicious if you can tolerate it). If you're weak with spice, don't be afraid to ask for the mild! I'll miss you, Everest!

Didn't expect to find such a good Indian/Nepalese food in the middle of nowhere. Services were excellent. The restaurant staff made us feel at home :)

My husband and I almost made the mistake of coming to Rapid City and not stopping at this wonderful place. We had Chicken Biryani and garlic Naan. It was amazing! So fresh, the seasoning was dead on, healthy portions, wonderful staff. My husband and I agree that we would fly to Rapid City just to eat at Everest Cuisine...oh and maybe see Mt Rushmore.
